Congratulations to all of the Palm Creek players for their participation and determination in bringing in the win. Sunbird and Springfield combined their clubs to bring their best players to the courts and there were many very hard-fought matches. Our players were gracious in victory and in defeat. After a couple of matches where we did not come out on top, our players were heard to say we played well but their players played better than us today and it was a good match. Attached, are the individual and team match results
Palm Creek Tennis Club must have earned a reputation for a Force To Be Reckoned With by now. When we play a match with another club, they know our players are going to give them a tough day on the court. In the 8 years that I have been a member of the club, I have not seen Palm Creek be defeated in one of the inter-club tournaments.
This is no doubt due in large part to the player development that cones from our Social Tennis, Men's and Women's Leagues, Mark's
Live Ball Program, Jim and Dieter's clinics, and our internal tournaments and daily match-ups.
Many thanks to the volunteers who made our tournament day so successful. Kate and Roberta kept things in order with the usual efficiency and everything went as smooth as silk. A special thanks to Dan, Chris, Pat, Jim, Ted, Linda, Leta, Don, Jack, Dieter, and Marsha who were at the courts prior to 8 AM and prepared the food and refreshments. Please forgive me if I left any names out on this. Everyone was moving so fast and working so hard, I might have missed someone.
And finally, as special thanks to Dan Hopkins for being the glue that keeps the club together and generating players at all levels of play that make our club so strong.
Cheers and all the best!
